El Morabba3

In 2009, Jordanian Palestinian band El Morabba3, (The Square in Arabic) came together to offer a groundbreaking sound with their unique music and socially engaged lyrics. Their fresh rock/post-rock electronic sound, described as euphoric, holistic, spacey and raucous quickly catapulted the band to massive success. Their artistic journey saw them become one of the leading socially and politically relevant bands reviving the Arab Independent music scene. The band broke cultural barriers and appealed to a generation of hunger-stricken fans living in an unstable and restless region, as they craved a new sound; one that expressed the thoughts, concerns and anger of the people towards the realities they are living today.

The hugely triumphant success of the first album inspired the band to start a crowdfunding campaign in the summer 2015 to support the making of their second album. The campaign was a success and exceeded their expectations, raising 115% of the band’s original funding target. Thanks to the scores of fans and their unwavering support, Taraf AlKhait was released in 2016.Much like the first album, their second album was praised for being deeply truthful, provocative and melancholic, as it voiced more reflections of the human condition and gave the band new heights of popularity. The album’s success lead to signing a worldwide distribution deal with Universal Music (UM) MENA, in September 2016, as well as being featured on UM’s ‘Now The Best Of Indie Arabia’.

Bilge Kaan Kuş: Fretted/Fretless Gitarre, Gesang
Uygar Çağlı: Bass
Marco Mrcela: Schlagzeug
Christopher Haritzer: Klarinette, Bassklarinette, Accordion
