HOMECOMING – A Journey Back to Self
April 14th | Vienna
Over 22 years ago, Barbara Alli arrived in Austria as an au pair—with nothing but dreams, culture, and a voice full of purpose.
Her journey has not been easy. From living in women’s shelters to navigating life in unfamiliar environments, she faced realities that could have broken her. Yet, those very experiences shaped her strength, her vision, and her music.
In 2012, she recorded her album Nonstop Journey—a powerful body of work that remained unreleased due to life’s challenges. Instead, she chose to build, give, and uplift: working tirelessly with musicians, founding Handmade Story Fashion, and supporting over 150 orphans in Kisii, Kenya for more than 15 years—feeding them every Christmas through what has now become a global movement.
In 2019, she participated in The Voice of Germany, further refining her artistry.
In 2024, she closed her shop after celebrating its 10-year anniversary, due to challenges caused by government construction work on Wiedner Hauptstraße.
In 2025, after closing her business, she returned fully to music and took the courageous step of traveling to Nigeria, where she recorded 70% of her songs.
Song by song, she reclaimed her voice:
Spread My Wings and Fly, Asiko, Funmi.
On January 1st this year, she released her first full EP:
HOMECOMING
Featuring songs such as Tolanioro, Ileya, Spread My Wings and Fly (Remix), Africa, Favorite Song, Kinimose.
Her single Ololufemi followed on her birthday, February 14th.
Her sound is a rich fusion of Afro-pop, jazz, funk, and soul—deeply rhythmic and rooted in her heritage.
Born in Ghana, raised in Nigeria, and inspired by Yoruba culture, her music tells stories of identity, resilience, love, and return.
The EP reflects the many dimensions of her journey: love, forgiveness, hope, courage, cultural connection, and finding true love in life and within oneself.
HOMECOMING embraces multiple languages: Twi, Yoruba, Pidgin English, English, and German.
This concert is more than music.
It is the celebration of a 15-year vision.
A testimony of resilience.
A call to return to yourself.
